What a week it’s been for Rock Recovery and our wonderful volunteers! These are just a few small glimpses of some of our volunteers who showed up this week and dedicated their valuable time to helping us with outreach, office clean-up, and more.

On Tuesday, we had our second Volunteer Outreach Corps interest meeting, led by our fabulous Founder, Dr. Carylynn Larson. And today, some incredible volunteers came out to our office to help with some tasks around the space!

We are so grateful for the passion and dedication our volunteers show each and every week. If you are interested in volunteering with Rock Recovery for events, outreach, and more, we’d love to have you!

Finding the right support can make all the difference on your eating disorder journey—and we’re grateful to partner with providers who share that belief. 💚

This month, we’re excited to launch our Clinical Referral Spotlight, where we highlight trusted professionals in our community who help make healing more accessible and connected. Our first spotlight features Molly Bremer, Owner and Therapist at Mosaic Nutrition, a valued partner to Rock Recovery and an incredible resource for individuals seeking compassionate, personalized support.

Molly’s dedication to helping clients build healthier relationships with food, body image, and themselves makes her a wonderful extension of the care we believe in at Rock Recovery. She brings warmth, expertise, and a deep commitment to meeting people where they are in the recovery process.

Whether you’re taking your first step toward support or looking to add trusted members to your care team, Molly is someone we’re proud to know and recommend.

We were so honored to partner with last week for an important conversation on the intersection of food insecurity and eating disorders, and how access to food deeply impacts mental health, healing, and recovery.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the NVFR facility, learn more about both Rock Recovery’s and NVFR’s incredible work, and hear a powerful discussion on how barriers to food can contribute to disordered eating patterns. Together, we explored what it means to build communities where food is safe, accessible, nourishing, and enjoyable for all.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us, and to our friends at the Northern Virginia Food Rescue for their partnership and leadership in this vital work. Real change happens when communities come together! 💚

Health is often misunderstood as something we can see—a body size, a number, a routine, or a version of perfection. But true health is so much deeper than appearance.

Health can look like eating enough, resting when you need to, asking for support, setting boundaries, finding joy, and healing your relationship with food and yourself.

Especially in recovery, health is not about doing everything “right.” It’s about care, flexibility, compassion, and wholeness.

If you find yourself in need of support, please visit the link below to schedule a free therapy consultation with us today. We are here to help you.💚

April is Autism Acceptance Month—a time to honor, celebrate, and uplift the experiences of autistic individuals in all their diversity. 💛♾️

At Rock Recovery, we’re committed to deepening understanding around the intersection of mental health and eating disorders, and that includes recognizing the important (and often overlooked) overlap between autism and eating disorders. Research shows autistic individuals experience eating disorders at disproportionately higher rates, yet are often underdiagnosed or misunderstood in treatment settings.

We’re grateful to contributing therapist Jenna Stone, LCSW-C, Founder of Side Quest Psychotherapy, for sharing her expertise in our latest blog. Through a neurodiversity-affirming lens, Jenna highlights the importance of compassionate, individualized care that truly meets people where they are.

April is here, and so is a little more light, a little more warmth, and a lot of gentle reminders. 🌷☀️

Growth doesn’t always feel big or visible, but it’s happening every day. You are allowed to slow down, ask for help, and take in moments of joy as they come.

Let this month be a reminder that you are enough, you deserve happiness, and you are not alone in your healing. 💚
