Meet Rachel! ⭐️

Originally from Ohio, Rachel brings her talent and passion to our Northern Virginia team. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and her master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. 🎓

Rachel loves incorporating books and music into her speech therapy sessions to make learning fun and engaging. She is trained in the Lindamood-Bell® programs, including LiPS®, Seeing Stars®, and Visualizing and Verbalizing®, for dyslexia, writing remediation, and reading comprehension. 📚✍🏻

When she’s not working, Rachel enjoys spending time her cats, Kiwi and Mac, and going to the movies. 🐱Her favorite animated movie is Zootopia! 🎥🍿

Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor-based speech disorder that affects a child’s ability to produce sounds and words accurately. The brain struggles to plan and coordinate the precise movements of the mouth required for clear speech. This difficulty is not caused by muscle weakness, but rather by a breakdown in motor planning. 🧠 Early identification and intervention can make a huge difference for kids with apraxia. 👄🗣️
