My name is Rich Summers I am a licensed Social Worker and Private Case Manager with a practice serving the Greater Boston area with over 25 years of experience in the field of Mental & Behavioral Health. I've been fortunate to work at some of the leading treatment facilities in the country. My years at McLean (1986-2004) and Emerson Hospital (2004-2013) have been instrumental in providing experience with a very diverse population of clients. These include adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors, on a wide range of issues including addiction, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, altered thought process, relationship issues, and trauma. It is my belief in order to help change behaviors, we first need to work on changing attitudes. The key to changing attitudes is to build a relationship grounded in trust. In my years of experience, I've observed and learned that one of the most effective ways to break down the inherent wall of resistance that accompanies some new clients is through activities that they find enjoyable. Which is why I've chosen not to have an office, but to meet my clients where they feel most comfortable and explore from there. This style has worked well and I hope to offer my experience, care, and understanding as we explore together those areas in your life where you may feel stuck, overwhelmed and sometimes out-of-control. My clinical/therapeutic coaching style will help you come to terms with accepting where you are presently, while working together to formulate a plan of action in moving you forward.
