Myth: ‘Black women don’t breastfeed.’
Truth: Black women have ALWAYS breastfed. During slavery, our ancestors were even forced to nurse white women’s babies while their own children often went hungry. That painful history, combined with generations of systemic barriers, created gaps in breastfeeding rates today.

But the truth is — black women have always nourished, always sustained, always cared. 🖤✨

Today, they are reclaiming their story with pride, power, and community.
