We’re proud to share that ACOFP and the American College of Osteopathic Internists have been recognized with the 2026 Award for Excellence in Inclusivity & Equity in CPD from the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions 🎉

Our joint initiative, “De-stress Pain Management: Rethinking Opioid and Nonopioid Therapies,” was honored for its innovative Year 2 expansion—featuring immersive virtual simulations developed with Syandus. These realistic cases help clinicians identify and address racial and ethnic disparities in pain management, improving equitable care through practice and reflection.

The results speak volumes: a 430% increase in bias recognition and a 349% improvement in equitable pain management decisions for Black patients.

Together, we’re advancing bias-conscious education and setting a new standard for inclusive clinical learning.
