For Eric Smith, DO, FACOI, and Hye Rim Smith, DO, FACOI, osteopathic internal medicine is a family affair, and a journey they’ve taken on together. Another step they took together was becoming ACOI Fellows at ACOI 2025, a testament to how much they value the osteopathic internal medicine community as a whole, and ACOI in particular. “It’s a tradition,” Hye Rim said. “We want to contribute to leading and continuing this organization.”

Lucia P. Schroeder-Hart, DO, MPH, was appointed Chief Resident of the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program for the 2026-27 academic year.

Tito, DO, FACOI, was recognized as part of the National Minority Quality Forum's 2026 Top 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health List.

Kardie Tobb, DO, MS, CPE, FASPC, FACC, FACOI, was named the 2026 recipient of the RISE Health Care Hero Award in recognition of her work with Cone Health.

David L. Tolentino, DO, FACOI, has been named dean of the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Tolentino has served as interim dean since July 1, 2025, and will bring nearly a decade of leadership at Campbell to this new role.

Joshua Lenchus, DO, RPh, FACP, SFHM, was featured in the American Osteopathic Association magazine The DO, for their DO Connections column. The piece, “Mentorship, the single greatest solution,” is about how connecting with mentors helped him along his path as a first-generation physician.
