Get to know Texas Health! Meet Vivian Barton, B.S.N., R.N., CMSRN, a charge nurse at Texas Health Dallas. Vivian is in our employee spotlight and talks about why she became a certified nurse.

When asked why do you think it’s important for nurses to pursue certification, Vivian said, "Certification boosts confidence. Being certified demonstrates the commitment to best practices. It can improve patient outcomes and increase patients’ confidence in their healthcare providers."

We love supporting our nurses who achieve a national nursing certification and grow in their careers at Texas Health.

Community Time Off (CTO) allows Texas Health employees to serve and volunteer with outside organizations, schools and nonprofits in our local service areas. And our employees have really been busy supporting our communities during this holiday season.

• Department Leaders and the members of the Quality department at Texas Health Southwest recently joined forces at the Salvation Army Angel Tree warehouse, helping ensure families across our community feel the love this Christmas.
• Texas Health Arlington Memorial's executive team and administrative assistants recently dashed through the hills to Mission Arlington, sharing smiles and holiday cheer while celebrating the spirit of the seasons with the Arlington Community.
• Our leadership team from Texas Health Flower Mound was honored to recently volunteer at Christian Community Action Christmas Cheer event this year. Through this amazing event, more than 1,500 children will experience the joy of Christmas.
• Texas Health Kaufman recently showed what community looks like in action with 45 Salvation Army Angels receiving gifts to brighten their holidays, team members volunteering as Red Kettle Bell ringers, helping raise funds that provide food, shelter, and hope for families in need and collecting essential items for local seniors through our White Christmas drive, ensuring no one feels forgotten.

Thank you to every team member who made a difference this holiday season. We love giving back to the communities we serve.

Happy New Year! Wishing you an amazing 2026! 🎉

12/30/2025

Happy 25th Anniversary to Texas Health Allen, opening on December 30, 2000. We recently celebrated our 25 years of caring for the community with a casino-themed event! The night included games, food, prizes and messages from our current and past presidents - Amanda Thrash, Jeff Reecer and Jared Shelton. Additional distinguished guests were city of Allen Mayor Baine Brooks and hospital channel chief operating officer, Josh Floren.

“This milestone represents the dedication of caregivers who have shaped Texas Health Allen into the trusted, award-winning hospital it is today,” said Amanda Thrash, FACHE, hospital president. “For 25 years, we’ve focused on expanding services, embracing innovation and meeting the growing needs of our community — and we’re excited for what the future will bring.”

What a great celebration!

New Year, New You? Every January, millions of people set New Year's resolutions with the best intentions. Maybe you've done it yourself — declared you'll lose weight, eat healthier, or finally start exercising regularly. But by February, those promises often fade. Sound familiar? You're not alone. The truth is, most New Year's resolutions fail. But they don't have to.

The good news? Understanding why resolutions fail and what actually works can help you make lasting changes that improve your health, not just for January, but for life.

Check out this article of the dos and don'ts to help you meet your New Year's goals.
