Here’s a fun challenge for families tonight…

⏱️ Set a 2-minute timer and have your child try to brush their teeth without stopping once. No rushing, no shortcuts. Just slow circles and big smiles in the mirror.

You’d be surprised how long two full minutes actually feels to kids! 😄

Little games like this can turn brushing from “a chore” into something kids feel proud of doing well. And those small habits add up to strong, healthy smiles over time. ✨

One of our favorite moments during appointments is when a child realizes they did something brave.

Maybe they sat through x-rays for the first time.
Maybe they opened wide without being asked twice.
Maybe they left saying, “That wasn’t scary!”

Those small wins build confidence, and we love celebrating them with every patient.

Ever wonder why some kids seem to get cavities even when they brush?

Cavities usually happen because of a combination of three things:
1️⃣ Bacteria in the mouth
2️⃣ Sugary or starchy foods
3️⃣ Time between brushing

When those three hang out together long enough, enamel can weaken.

That’s why regular brushing, flossing, and checkups are the best defense!

🌎 Happy Earth Day!

Taking care of the planet and taking care of our smiles actually have a lot in common — small daily habits can make a big difference over time.

Things families can try:
✔ Turn off the faucet while brushing
✔ Replace toothbrushes regularly
✔ Encourage reusable water bottles instead of sugary drinks

Healthy planet. Healthy smiles.

Life with kids moves fast — between school, sports, birthdays, and everything else on the calendar, it’s easy for dental visits to sneak up on you.

That’s why we always recommend scheduling your child’s next checkup ahead of time. Regular visits help us keep little smiles healthy, catch small issues early, and make sure everything is growing just the way it should.

Plus, when kids come in regularly, visits feel familiar and stress-free (which parents love too!).

If your child is due for their next cleaning and exam, now is the perfect time to get it on the calendar.

Loose tooth season is officially here. 🦷

If your child has a wiggly tooth, here are a few helpful tips:

✔ Let kids wiggle it gently with clean hands
✔ Avoid pulling it too early
✔ Crunchy foods like apples can sometimes help it loosen naturally

And when that tooth finally comes out? The Tooth Fairy might just be on standby. 🧚

In honor of National Pet Day, let’s talk about some famous animal teeth! 🐶

Did you know:
• Dogs have 42 teeth
• Cats have 30 teeth
• Elephants grow multiple sets of molars throughout their lives

Luckily kids only have two sets — baby teeth and adult teeth — which means taking good care of them really matters.

Every child walks into the dentist’s office with a different personality.

Some kids are excited.
Some are curious.
Some feel nervous.
Some want to ask a million questions.

Our job is to meet every child exactly where they are — with patience, kindness, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Because when kids feel safe and supported, dental visits become something they can actually look forward to.

🌎 Today is World Health Day, and it’s a great reminder that oral health is part of whole-body health.

Healthy teeth help kids:
✔ chew comfortably
✔ speak clearly
✔ sleep better
✔ feel confident when they smile

When we care for children’s smiles, we’re really caring for their overall well-being. And that’s something worth celebrating every day.

Let’s talk about plaque — because it’s not just something dentists say to scare kids. 😅

Plaque is actually a sticky film of bacteria that forms on teeth throughout the day. When kids eat sugary or starchy foods, those bacteria throw a little party and create acids that can weaken enamel.

That’s why brushing before bed is especially important — it clears away plaque before it has all night to cause trouble.

Think of brushing as the nightly “clean-up crew” for your child’s smile.

Spring sports are kicking into full swing — soccer, baseball, lacrosse, biking, skateboards… and sometimes unexpected tumbles.

That’s why April is National Facial Protection Month, a reminder that protecting kids’ smiles during sports is just as important as helmets and pads.

Mouthguards can help prevent:
🦷 Broken teeth
🦷 Lip and cheek injuries
🦷 Jaw trauma

If your child plays contact sports, a mouthguard can make a huge difference.

Healthy smiles should stay in the game.
