Sleep and Snoring Solutions offers patients suffering from snoring and sleep apnea a conservative and friendly management, especially patients who cannot tolerate CPAP and are seeking treatment alternatives. After earning his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Akkad gained a Masters in Prosthodontics at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry, followed by a Fellowship in Orofacial Pain and TM Disorders at the world renowned Orofacial Pain Center at the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry in Lexington. During the fellowship, Dr. Akkad attained special training in dental sleep medicine as well as management of such oral and salivary disorders as burning mouth and dry mouth. In 2004, Dr. Akkad began specializing in complex prosthodontic patient care and management, working and teaching at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry and later at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. A member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Akkad is one of only 3,200 prosthodontists in the United States, compared to 170,000 general dentists.
