Earlier this week we held a “reunion” for the participants in our Nourish and Thrive Nutrition Education series.

Our patients were so happy to connect and share stories of how the program has changed their health. From weight loss to improved eating strategies, a positive impact was felt by all!

We even had a special guest visit from Dr. Arieta who gave an acupuncture demonstration!

GERD, or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, is a digestive disorder where stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn, acid regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing. It is a more serious and persistent form of acid reflux caused by the lower esophageal sphincter not closing properly.

This week, we are highlighting this chronic disorder which affects 1 in 5 men and women in the U.S. population. Building awareness can translate into building research activities and a stronger commitment for new treatment options.
