Edit: power is back on!

The shopping center lost power Tuesday 10/7 at 10:07am. We are unsure the cause and will report back once power returns. Until it returns, we have no phones or internet. We will be contacting our patients to give them an update. Thank you!

We are so excited about this! As soon as we have access to this lens we will begin recommending it. Near-sighted kids that are progressing at quick rates will now have an eyeglass option to slow their myopia!

After years of anticipation, the first US approval of a myopia control spectacle lens was announced earlier today.

The Essilor Stellest lens reduced progression of spherical equivalent refraction by 71% and axial elongation by 53% after two years of wear, according to the FDA.

It's approved for use in children six to 12 years old and the lenses should be worn at least 12 hours per day, every day.

The time is finally here to (officially!) celebrate Dr. Ray Atcherson's retirement from 43 years of amazing patient care as the founder of Bay Hills Eye Care.

We are hosting an "open house" style retirement party at our office on Friday, September 19th from 4-6pm. We will provide drinks and light appetizers.

Temporary phone and internet outage affecting about half of the shopping center. We are open until 5pm and appointments are still on but we cannot take any payments or access the electronic health records until the they fix the outage. Will post when services are restored!

We sent out an email last week but as a reminder we will be closed Thursday and Friday (2/20-21) for a staff training conference in FL.

New update (11AM):
Road conditions still not great to bring all staff in, so we will be opening from 130-430 to see patients with one doctor and only 1-2 staff. No optical services unfortunately; eye exams and glasses/contact lens pick-ups only. Hoping things are back to normal for tomorrow!

‼️Snow update‼️
We are delaying opening til 12 noon today to give more time for neighborhood roads to be plowed. Anyone with a 10-12am appointment is in the process of being contacted to reschedule.

The plan is to be open 12-7, likely with limited staff.

For Monday 1/6:
We are planning to stay open granted the roads are safe enough to get our employees to work safely.

If we make the call to close or delay the normal 10am opening, we will post here and also contact all patients with appointments directly.

Dr. Heather will check the roads by 730/8am and see how things are looking.
