Some of your midwives, nurses and office staff gathered briefly to acknowledge our closing. Our formidable and fearless leader, Ann Sober, was gifted by all of us with an etched vase to commemorate her work here. She talked about all the nurses who have launched midwifery careers from here, and, most importantly, the families whose lives have been transformed by their care here, and the cascading effects that 23 years have made in positive directions. As was usually the case, Joanne was attending a birth at the hospital and couldn’t be present! We love our community, we could not have been here for you for 23 years without all the love and support. Toward a better future for families and birth. Thank you.
