Did you know that unprotected exposure to the sun’s UV rays can lead to serious health issues, including skin cancer and eye damage?

This month, we’re reminding everyone to take simple steps to stay safe in the sun:

🧴 Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen
🕶️ Protect your eyes with UV-blocking sunglasses
👒 Cover up with hats and clothing
⛱️ Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 AM–4 PM)
🚫 Avoid tanning beds

Meet Anna Sosnowski, our 2025 Day of Hope Ambassador! 💛

After 13 years as a nurse—including three at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital—Anna never expected to find herself on the other side of care.

While breastfeeding her 4-month-old, Anna found a lump in her breast. That lump turned out to be stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma.

💬 “You never think it’ll happen to you. I eat well, exercise, and have three young kids.”

With the support of her family and care team at Mission Hope Cancer Center Arroyo Grande, Anna faced chemo, a double mastectomy, and radiation with resilience and hope. Her mom, also a breast cancer survivor, was by her side every step of the way.
