"I thought I had a good week but then I saw the pictures" "I felt great all week but then I looked at the scale" "I had great workouts and a couple PR's this week, still don't see any changes" "I worked my butt off this week but not seeing the changes that some of your other clients had"

Every one of these comments from clients started out with a victory, but then they belittle that victory. Keep the focus on the day to day victories, not the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal is typically at the end of your journey, but you can't get there without piling up the day to day wins.

This story still rings true. From 5 years ago but still very much how we see ourselves. Don't forget to celebrate all the small victories along the way. The work is in all those small victories so never lessen a victory no matter how small it is.

It takes consistent: work, nutrition, effort, planning, cooking, training, day in and day out

I have had many CPR classes over the last 25 + years but was never told this…..
Have you ever thought about it ❤️
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then ?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:
1.
Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
2.
You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.
3.
Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..
4.
Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
5.
How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
6.
But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
7.
Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment
8.
Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

I cannot express enough the importance of nutrition to teenagers who are trying to add new muscle tissue or even trying to lean out for their high school sports.

This one is especially memorable because I am looking at the same exact body type I was in high school. I was a naturally lean skinny kid with obvious muscle structure (ectomorph) so even then I know it was going to take the proper amount of food to gain the muscle I wanted.

Just like this young man who we gradually worked up to 3000 calories, I was just as focused on my nutrition as I was my strength training and I quickly surpassed all my fellow athletes in high school who weren't so focus on nutrition but still trained hard.

I see poor nutrition habits even today in so many high school athletes many who I have personally trained, even with my own son who still doesn't eat enough for his goals to this day. I know people say they are just teenagers but are they teenagers with athletic specific goals that want to continue with their athletic careers after high school?

As a parent are you supporting them through club teams, year round leagues? This type of schedule makes nutrition even that much more important. Do your kids a favor and drive into them the importance of not just being an athlete but also eating like one.

If you have a teenager training his/her butt off, then give them the upper hand and reach out for a program or assistance from a nutrition professional, like myself and give them upper hand as well as protecting them from injury. Many injuries at a young age are a result from overuse from a lack of recovery. Proper nutrition will reduce that risk 100%.
