Artesia) is an ophthalmology nonprofit 501 (c)(3) clinic dedicated to preserving the eyesight of indigent and/or medically uninsured patients in the Los Angeles and Orange County communities. Our objective is to identify, screen, educate, and treat individuals that are at risk of losing their eyesight due to cataract, glaucoma, or diabetes. Kenneth Sall, M.D., is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Medical Director of H.O.P.E. He has been in private practice since 1986 and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of external corneal diseases. Dr. Sall founded the nonprofit clinic in 2004 and has worked with several free community clinics in the Los Angeles County area to provide free health eye exams. Artesia has recently collaborated with a surgery center and multiple pharmaceutical companies in an effort to provide patients with free (or reduced cost) cataract surgeries or eye prescription medications. Eligibility for the different types of programs H.O.P.E. Artesia offers are specific to the type of treatment or prescription medication needed by the patient. However, most qualifying patients meet a 200% or below Federal Poverty Level (FPL), and have no medical insurance or prescription medication coverage. Our program is slowly growing and we can expect enhancements in the future. However, our main focus will always be to preserve the eyesight of needy individuals in our surrounding communities. Health Opportunities Provided for Everyone (H.O.P.E.
