I wanted to take a moment to let all of our friends and family know about the devastating event that took place this past Saturday. My dad, Jeffrey Sr.—or as some in our family lovingly called him, “Big Jeff”—was assisting with a funeral and helping to care for one of our families when he experienced a medical emergency.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the paramedics, they were unable to save him. He passed away at a cemetery while doing what he loved most—being there for others.
He wasn’t someone that many of the families we serve met personally, but he was truly the greatest asset we had. He always made sure that every family who called on us received the most loving and compassionate care. He regularly checked in with me and our staff to ensure we were staying on top of our work and supporting families with kindness and professionalism. He also did so much behind the scenes—maintaining our service vehicles and making sure the funeral home was always in excellent shape and ready to welcome any family in need.
For me personally, this has been both devastating and exhausting. My staff has been incredible, continuing to serve families in their times of need, and we remain committed to upholding the high level of care my dad expected us to provide to each and every family.
I want to sincerely thank all of our friends, families, and neighbors who have offered condolences and shown such tremendous support to us during this difficult time.
I also want to thank the other funeral directors that I have worked with over the years who have reached out and offered help in any way they could.
Jeffrey
