For Megan Lumpkins, home health is about trust, independence, and connection.

As a dedicated member of our Colorado VNA home health team, Megan helps patients stay safe and independent at home through fall prevention, personalized care plans, and close collaboration with families. She shares, “It’s incredibly rewarding to support patients where they’re most comfortable.”

Megan also values the balance Colorado VNA provides: the freedom to manage her caseload with the support of a compassionate, responsive team always behind her.

Thank you, Megan, for the heart and dedication you bring to every patient and family you serve. 💙

A legacy 136 years in the making…

Founded in 1889, Colorado Visiting Nurse Association began as a grassroots effort to bring nursing care to Denver’s underserved neighborhoods during a time of urgent public health need.

Since then, we’ve grown into Colorado’s oldest and largest nonprofit home healthcare agency, serving thousands through home health, hospice, palliative, and wellness care across the Front Range.

As we reflect on our past, we’re proud of how far we’ve come, and deeply grateful for the communities we’ve had the privilege to serve.

Enjoy a few incredible photos from our early years.

Tomorrow we celebrate the 4th of July—and give thanks to the veterans who’ve made our independence possible.

At CVNA, we’re proud to offer home health and hospice care designed to support veterans with dignity and compassion. Our teams are trained to recognize service-related health needs and tailor care to reflect each individual’s story.

To our veterans: we see you, we thank you, and we’re honored to care for you.

Don’t miss this powerful new documentary!

Join us in watching “Caregiving,” a moving new film produced by Bradley Cooper and narrated by award-winning actress Uzo Aduba, premiering Tuesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. MT on PBS and the PBS YouTube Channel.

We’re proud that our very own Amanda Goodenow from Colorado Visiting Nurse Association was invited to speak on a panel at a VIP screening of the documentary in April, where she shared thoughtful insights on the realities and rewards of caregiving.

This film brings attention to the deeply personal stories of caregivers across the country — stories that reflect the compassion and resilience we witness every day through our own care teams. 💙

Save the date and tune in to honor the heart of caregiving.

Happy CNA Week to the incredible Certified Nursing Assistants at Colorado Visiting Nurse Association!

CNAs are often the first to arrive and the last to leave—offering hands-on care, heartfelt presence, and deep compassion to patients and families alike.

In hospice and home health, their work is profoundly personal. From holding a hand during a difficult moment to preserving dignity through daily tasks, CVNA’s CNAs show us what true care looks like.

We’re beyond grateful for their strength, their kindness, and the calm they bring to every visit. 💙

To our CNAs: thank you for the difference you make—one patient, one day, one moment at a time.

This Nurse Appreciation Week, we honor the extraordinary nurses who walk beside patients and families during life’s most tender moments.

In hospice and home health care, nurses do far more than provide clinical expertise. They offer comfort, dignity, and compassion when it’s needed most. Their calm presence, listening hearts, and tireless dedication in supporting seniors in remaining independent while healing or bringing peace to those facing end-of-life journeys is invaluable.

To every hospice and home health care nurse: Thank you for the grace and strength you bring to this profound work. You are truly the heart of compassionate care.

Yesterday, the Next50 Foundation and Rocky Mountain PBS hosted a special pre-screening of the documentary “Caregiving,” produced by Bradley Cooper. Attendees were treated to a 30-minute sneak peek showing of the documentary, followed by a panel discussion on the topic of Caregiving.

Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s very own Amanda Goodenow was part of the panel, offering thoughtful insights and valuable input to this important topic.

“Caregiving” highlights the challenges and triumphs of caregiving in America. Award-winning actress Uzo Aduba (The Residence, Painkiller, Orange is the New Black) narrates the film, bringing her own experience as a caregiver for her mother to the project. The two-hour documentary will premiere Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. MT on PBS and the PBS YouTube Channel. An early streaming premiere begins Tuesday, May 27, 2025, on WellBeings.org, PBS.org, and the PBS app.
