Meet Yoshi from OTF South Anchorage! 🧡 When his daughter suggested he try OTF, he jumped in to stay in shape — and to stay far away from the doctor’s office as he gets older. 👏

Yoshi set a goal to show up 8 times every month … and he’s still doing it. His biggest supporters? His daughter, his wife, and his OTF coaches and staff. He’s made new friends, built healthy habits, and even found a way to actually enjoy working out (spoiler: it’s the OTF magic).

First OTF hike of the summer was a success! 🥾🏔️🌼🤩

17 members, 2 dogs, 1 baby, and a pair of crocs against the world (North Table Mountain), and we crushed it!! Thanks for a great day of fun in the sun with y’all, and extra kudos to everyone that came out even after joining us for happy hour the night before. 😉

A peer-reviewed study published in the journal Circulation by researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Texas Health Resources found that sedentary adults aged 45–64 who followed a 2-year aerobic exercise program—including moderate to high-intensity workouts 4–5 times per week—significantly improved their heart health.

The regimen increased cardiac elasticity and reversed heart stiffening, a key factor in age-related heart failure. The researchers concluded that consistent exercise could make the heart functionally 20 years younger in adults who begin training before age 65.
