In this video, I’m performing fractional CO2 laser resurfacing to improve the texture of abdominal stretch marks.

Stretch marks develop when the dermis stretches faster than it can remodel. This can happen with pregnancy, weight changes, muscle gain, or growth. Over time they may fade in color, but the change in texture often remains.

Fractional CO2 works by creating controlled microthermal columns in the skin. This stimulates collagen remodeling and encourages the dermis to reorganize. The goal is not to erase stretch marks, but to improve texture, soften their appearance, and create a smoother overall surface.

Abdominal skin tends to respond well when treatments are properly spaced and performed with appropriate depth and density. Most patients require a series of three treatments, spaced approximately 8–10 weeks apart, for optimal improvement.

Because collagen remodeling takes time, this is an ideal time of year to begin treatment. Starting now allows the skin to gradually build and strengthen before summer.
Patient selection, laser settings, and experience matter — especially when treating body areas.
