Tracking your cycle and understanding how your hormones change through out the month is sooo key whether you want to get pregnant or not!

There is a big misconception that tracking your cycle isn’t necessary if you aren’t desiring children or maybe are done having kids.

If you are dealing with fertility concerns, irregular periods, painful periods, heavy periods, severe pms, low energy, low libido, monthly headaches, PCOS, endometriosis, or fibroids there is likely a hormone imbalance at play!

Soo I have some news 😳☺️🫣 we are having TWINS!🙏🏼❤️🌈

I’ve been holding this close to our hearts & with friends and family for some time. It came as a major shock, although I guess it’s fitting that as someone who specializes in fertility and hormone support, that I would have spontaneous twins 🙃

I have so much to share about this journey. After dealing with loss, seeing that positive pregnancy test doesn’t bring the same joy that it initially did. Instead it brings anxiety and doubt. Then finding out there were TWO was a total surprise & rollercoaster of emotions.

My heart goes out to any one struggling in their fertility journey. I know these announcements bring up a lot and I struggle to share my joy with others because I know the feeling so deeply of wanting something I didn’t have yet.

But please let this be your reminder of what IS POSSIBLE for you. As someone who was told as a couple we had “unexplained infertility” and that we’d be a good candidate for IVF without any discussion of what else could be done, we are proof that getting pregnant naturally can happen.

For us it was functional medicine and being intentional with our life from the inside out as a couple that I believe made all the difference in our journey. 🙏🏼✨

The truth is women are having babies much later in life than previous generations. And that is OK.

I do a major eye roll 🙄 when I hear “Advanced maternal age” or “geriatric” pregnancies. The anxiety and pressure these terms create is terrible 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rather than focus on age alone, it is much more helpful to focus on your current health status, your partner’s health, stress levels, toxic load and optimizing your hormones.

This means if you aren’t as healthy as you’d like to be- focus on getting that in check the best you can before conceiving.

This will not only optimize your chances to conceive but support the health of your pregnancy and baby. This means reducing your risk of morning sickness, supporting your energy levels, & reducing your chances from things like Gestational Diabetes and Preeclampsia.

This is something I see way too often…

If you’ve been told to take a supplement without any discussion about your lifestyle and nutrition this is just as bad as being written a prescription.

The idea that a supplement can fix everything is simply not true.

Supplements are meant to “supplement” your life but not be the end all be all.

It’s the daily choices you make every day- that leads to true sustainable change.

Supplements can absolutely help support the body and improve symptoms but if you don’t commit to showing up for your body on a daily basis then true healing isn’t possible.

Working with a practitioner that is helping you uncover the root cause to your symptoms is crucial rather than throwing spaghetti at the wall with different supplements and lots of money wasted.

Don’t be fooled by the “magic” supplement ladies. It doesn’t exist.

⚖️Balancing blood sugar is essential for hormone support (especially for those with PCOS). When blood sugar is stable the body can enter a state of feeling safe, and in turn is able to prioritize reproduction.

There are 4 different phases that make up the menstrual cycle.

🩸Menstruation
☺️Follicular phase
🌸Ovulation
😴Luteal Phase

During each of these phases there are different fluctuations of hormones that occurs.

Think Estrogen, Progesterone, Luteinizing hormone (LH), and Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).

A common misconception is that pregnancy can occur at ANY point in the cycle. This simply is not true.

The fertile window lasts ~6 days out of your whole cycle!

Some of the biggest issues we see for those struggling to fully heal are ➡️

Living in fight or flight mode 24/7

Thanks to diet culture, under eating is still such a prominent thing we see. Especially for those desiring weight loss, it seems like the easiest way to accomplish that is to eat less.

However this could not be FARTHER from the truth. When the body does not get proper nutrition, you end up with low nutrients & minerals, blood sugar dysregulation, slower metabolism, & gut dysbiosis leading to poor sleep.

Poor sleep impacts the immune system and nervous system, making it difficult for you to properly detox and strengthen your immune function.

A great way to optimize your fertility and health is to prioritize foods rich in these key nutrients. A good starting point is focusing on a well rounded diet consisting of lots of fresh fruit/veggies, grass-fed and pastures meats, eggs, fish, and healthy fats.

B vitamins 🐟🥩🥬: fatty fish, eggs, meat and organ meat (especially liver), full fat dairy products, leafy greens

Folate 🥬🥦: spinach, kale, arugula, broccoli, beets, edamame
