To allow our staff to spend New Year’s Eve with their families, our pharmacy will close early at 3 PM tomorrow, December 31st. We will also be closed on New Year’s Day, January 1st.

We will reopen with regular hours on January 2nd.

🎄 Pharmacy Holiday Hours 🎄

To allow our amazing staff to enjoy the holiday with their families, our pharmacy will close early at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve (December 24th) and remain closed all day on Christmas Day (December 25th).

We’ll reopen with normal hours on December 26th.

Until recent years few people had ever heard the term PBM which stands for Pharmacy Benefit Manager. They are the middlemen between us (pharmacies) and plan sponsors (Insurers, Employers, & Govt Plans). They dictate the copay amount you pay and how much we get paid for filling your prescription. They have been getting lots of press recently, much of which compares them to being modern day gangsters or the mafia.
It only seems logical that the entities in charge of reimbursing pharmacies shouldn’t be able to own their own pharmacies and steer (force) patients those affiliated pharmacies they own but unfortunately it has been that way for too long.
Hopefully that is all about to change. On Wednesday Senators Elizabeth Warren D-Mass and Josh Hawley-R MO alongside Reps Diana Harshbarger R-Tenn and Jack Auchincloss D-Mass introduced the Patients Before Monopolies (PBM) Act. The bill would prohibit a parent company of a PBM or insurer from owning a pharmacy business and require them to sell their existing pharmacy businesses within three years.
We have never mixed politics with our business so please recognize the gravity of the situation that has brought us to make this post. Regardless of personal politics we think most people would agree that the bipartisan and bicameral bill proves this problem is big enough that lawmakers from both sides are united on the need to protect Americans from these predatory practices.
