TRUE or MYTH: Kids’ Sleep Edition 👀
If your child sleeps through the night but:
• Snores
• Grinds their teeth
• Wakes up cranky
• Melts down after school
• Struggles with focus
…it may not be “just a phase.”
Poor sleep quality can impact a child’s brain development, emotional regulation, growth, and behavior — even when they’re spending enough hours in bed.
In this episode of Living Local DMV, Dr. Lynda and Dr. Krystle break down the myths parents hear most often about kids’ sleep — and what signs shouldn’t be ignored.
🎥 Watch the full conversation on YouTube to learn how airway health and sleep quality are deeply connected.

In this episode of Conversations That Matter, Dr. Steffen Decker shares why dentistry and orthodontics are not just about moving teeth — they’re about protecting a child’s health, airway, sleep, and long-term wellbeing.
Small, intentional interventions can create life-changing outcomes.
And when we focus on function first, we help shape healthier futures.
Grateful for every moment, every conversation, and every opportunity to serve in 2025 🤍
From sharing knowledge to celebrating together, this year reminded us why we do what we do — for the children, the families, and the future.
As we step into a new season, we’re excited to continue growing, learning, and making an even greater impact together.
Here’s to what’s next. Happy New Year! 🎉

Simone Biles didn’t become the greatest gymnast overnight.
Her strength, balance, and confidence were built through years of intentional support, patience, and consistency.
✨ That’s exactly how real growth happens for children, too.
At Ashburn Children’s Dentistry & Womb 2 Grow Wellness, we know every child’s journey looks different. Some changes come quickly. Others take time. What matters is guidance, consistency, and honoring the body’s natural process.
As we step into the New Year, we’re reminded that growth isn’t rushed—it’s supported.

Can breathing affect how my child’s face grows?
Yes—and it starts earlier than most parents realize.
A child’s face develops in response to how they breathe, rest their tongue, and hold their jaw. When breathing happens through the nose, the tongue naturally rests on the roof of the mouth—supporting balanced facial growth, proper jaw development, and a healthy airway.
But when a child mouth breathes, even quietly during sleep, during watching TV, the tongue drops down. Over time, this can influence:
• Narrower jaws
• Crowded teeth
• Longer facial patterns
• Sleep and airway challenges
At Ashburn Children’s Dentistry & Womb 2 Grow Wellness, we don’t just look at teeth—we look at airway, breathing, and growth patterns to support your child’s natural development early, gently, and intentionally.
📩 Have questions about your child’s breathing or facial growth? Send us a message—we’re here to help.

Before a baby ever feeds, speaks, or breathes — they’re already practicing.
This in-utero MRI shows something we see echoed clinically every day: babies swallowing, moving, coordinating, and organizing their bodies long before birth.
That matters — because function doesn’t start at delivery. It starts in the womb.
When there’s early tension or restriction (and yes, tongue ties can be identified as early as ~12 weeks in utero), those movement patterns are practiced for months. The nervous system, fascia, and motor pathways adapt around that tension — before a baby ever cries or feeds.
That’s why at Womb 2 Grow, we don’t rush to cut.
The tongue is deeply connected to the entire fascial system — from the mouth through the body. Releasing tissue without understanding the whole-body patterning can create more dysregulation, not less.
Our approach is intentional and staged:
• comprehensive evaluation
• understanding prenatal + postnatal patterns
• conservative, precise laser care when indicated
• detailed pre- and post-release support
• and long-term guidance as the child grows
Because nothing “suddenly” started at birth. It was practiced for nine months — and it deserves thoughtful, whole-body care.
This is why we do what we do.
From womb → to growth.
PS: Kudos to Dr. Zikky for this wonderful presentation.

Healing doesn’t stop after a baby tongue-tie release — it continues through guided support.
After an infant frenectomy, suck training and BabyLase help your baby relearn how to use their tongue the right way — for feeding, comfort, and long-term oral development.
This step is about more than release. It’s about function, regulation, and healthy growth.

Many parents see the Neonatal ALF for the first time and immediately worry about choking hazards, discomfort, or safety. We understand — it’s unfamiliar, and the tiny string can look concerning if you don’t know what it’s for.
Here’s the truth:
The Neonatal ALF is a gentle, functional appliance designed to support healthy oral development, airway growth, tongue mobility, and feeding from the earliest weeks of life.
✔️ The string is not a choking risk — it’s a safety feature that allows easy visibility and retrieval.
✔️ It is light, flexible, and comfortable for babies.
✔️ It works with the baby’s natural movement to guide proper craniofacial growth.
When applied and monitored by trained providers, the Neonatal ALF is one of the safest, most supportive tools for early airway and growth development.
✨ Save & share this to help another parent understand how this appliance works.
