When we talk about “Green Light,” we’re not just talking about technology — we’re talking about tissue response.

At the tissue level, the non-surgical laser light helps:
• Gently influence the fascia (the connective tissue under the tongue and lips)
• Support the softening of hyaluronic-acid–rich tissue, which can contribute to relieving stiffness and restriction
• Encourage more comfortable, efficient healing after a release

Fascia isn’t just “extra tissue.” It’s living, responsive connective tissue that adapts to stress, tension, and restriction.

By preparing and supporting the tissue before and after a frenectomy, we can approach releases more conservatively — especially for infants but also for our kiddos, teens, and adults!

Less force. More support. Better healing.

“Don’t wait for problems to get louder. Listen when they whisper.”

In infants, the “whispers” can look like:
• Difficulty latching
• Clicking while nursing
• Gassiness or reflux
• Prolonged feedings
• Poor weight gain
• Tension in the body
• Shallow breathing patterns

Sometimes these signs are related to tongue ties or lip ties that restrict proper oral function.

At Ashburn Children’s Dentistry, we believe prevention begins in infancy. We evaluate structure, function, breathing, and growth — because how a baby feeds and breathes today can influence their development tomorrow.

If something feels off, trust your instinct. Message us to schedule an infant airway and oral function evaluation. Early assessment makes all the difference.

Join us for a live conversation exploring the early foundations of infant sleep, airway health, and development.

Dr. Lynda and Dr. Krystle will join sleep medicine physician, Dr. Funke Afolabi-Brown, for an important discussion about the subtle signs families and providers may miss.

Parents — have you ever wondered:
Why does my child still struggle with sleep even after braces?
Why does straightening teeth not always fix breathing?
Why do some treatments fail to create lasting change?

We had the honor of joining If Your Mouth Could Talk with Dr. Bahar Esmaili to talk about what mainstream dentistry often overlooks:
✨ Airway development
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Birth trauma & fascia
✨ Whole-body readiness before orthodontics

Because healthy kids are built from the inside out — and the mouth is just one piece of the story.
If you’re ready to see your child’s health through a new lens, this conversation is for you.

Many early childhood behaviors are brushed off as “normal.”

But mouth breathing, snoring, grinding, extended bedwetting, and extreme texture avoidance can sometimes be the body’s way of signaling that something deeper needs attention.

Children are constantly adapting. The question is — what are they adapting to?

When we understand how airway health, sleep quality, jaw development, and oral function are connected, we can support growth early instead of correcting problems later.

Awareness is not about fear — it’s about empowerment.

💬 Which of these signs have you noticed before? Let’s start the conversation.

This Women’s History Month, we honor the women who lead with purpose, compassion, and vision.

In pediatric dentistry and whole-child wellness, progress happens when women step into leadership — not just to treat, but to transform how we think about children’s health, airway development, growth, and prevention.

We are grateful for the women in healthcare who came before us, the colleagues walking beside us, and the young girls watching what’s possible.

Here’s to raising standards.
Here’s to raising healthy children.
Here’s to raising future leaders.

In this episode of Conversations That Matter, Dr. Steffen Decker talks about a powerful shift happening in orthodontics: prevention and early education.

When we focus on prevention, we’re not just aligning teeth — we’re supporting healthier growth, better breathing, and long-term development for children. As Dr. Decker shares, helping one child can change a life — and that impact reaches families and future generations.

What you’re seeing here isn’t about teaching a baby to chew — it’s about helping them organize their mouth and face in a healthy way from the very beginning.

When infants use Myo Munchee, we’re gently supporting lip seal awareness, which plays a key role in nasal breathing, tongue posture, and early facial development. These small moments of practice help build the foundation for feeding, sleep, and airway growth over time.

Early support isn’t about rushing development — it’s about guiding the body toward natural, healthy patterns.

When a patient says they want a dentist with more experience… so we traveled back a few thousand years just to be safe. 😄

Just kidding — this meme is all in good fun to brighten your feed!

While we didn’t actually practice in prehistoric times, our team has proudly served families for over 25 years. That’s decades of experience, growth, continuing education, and evolving with the science — especially when it comes to airway-focused and whole-child care. 💛

Malala Yousafzai’s journey reminds us that meaningful change rarely happens overnight. Malala Yousafzai grew her voice step by step—and in the same way, children grow best when they’re supported with patience, intention, and the right foundation.

At Ashburn Children’s Dentistry & Womb 2 Grow Wellness, we see everyday that real development takes time. Some children progress quickly, others unfold more gradually—and both paths are valid.

✨ Growth isn’t rushed. It’s nurtured.
