War. Division. AI. Violence. Uncertainty and disillusionment are rampant. What can we do?

New Episode: Why Uncertainty Feels So Hard — and How to Cope

In this episode of Insights & Actions, Craig James, Johnny Pierce, and Matt Christian talk about how uncertainty shows up in the therapy office and in everyday life. We dig into collective defense mechanisms, surprising research on how we relate to the uncertainty, and practical tips for responding to anxiety and disillusionment. Also, you'll hear about: parenting through uncertain times, exposure therapy, race, helplessness, and why how we relate to uncertainty may be one of the defining features of our lives.

Give it a listen wherever you get your podcasts — YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more.

Wondering if alcohol moderation could actually work for you? The free Alcohol Moderation Assessment can help you get clarity.

Developed by Insight Recovery Centers co-founder Cyndi Turner, it helps people better determine if they may be a good candidate for moderation.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, making this a good time to reflect on one's relationship with alcohol.

At Insight Recovery Centers, we believe in meeting you where you are, but not leaving you there.

FREE EVENT TOMORROW! We’re told to relax, slow down, take a break, or get more sleep. But for many people, it isn't that easy.

Fortunately, rest is a skill that can be learned.

Tomorrow evening, Insight Recovery Centers and Aram Counseling and Wellness Center are hosting a free Community Wellness Night focused on rest as a skill for mental health, physical health, and recovery.

You’ll learn from an expert, connect with others, and yes, there will be snacks!

The Autism Social Collective meets again this Sunday at 12pm! It's a low-pressure space for autistic adults to spend time with other autistic adults, with no social skills training, no pressure to perform, and no expectation to engage in any particular way.

Just come as you are. Hang out, play games, or simply share space.

Next meeting: Sunday, April 26 at 12:00 PM

Location: 44340 Premier Plaza, Suite 230, Ashburn, VA

Cost: $10/session — no one turned away for cost

Teen mental health documentary screening — May 13 @ 7:00 PM

We're excited to share that our co-founder, Craig James, will be serving on the expert panel for Our Turn to Talk, a teen mental health documentary screening on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM at Alamo Cinema & Drafthouse in One Loudoun.
Following the film, Craig will join fellow clinicians, educators, and a young adult featured in the documentary for a panel discussion and community Q&A — a conversation dedicated to ending stigma and strengthening the support network around our youth.

Craig's work at Insight Into Action Therapy has long centered on meeting people — especially young people — where they are and guiding them toward meaningful change. We're proud to see him bring that perspective to this important community event.

Our first meeting of the Autism Social Collective was terrific! Thank you to everyone who participated and those that referred people to the group. Please contact me if you know an autistic adult with low support needs who would benefit from a low-demand space to connect with other neurodivergent people!

The group meets the last Sunday of each month at 12pm in Ashburn.

Men make up less than 20% of therapists. Some thoughts from three of them.

New episode of Insights & Actions — we react to a Wall Street Journal article on the disappearance of male therapists and get into what men's experience of therapy is like. We talk gender bias in psychology, couples dynamics, and what it means to show up as a male therapist in 2026.
