These online mental health apps look cheap and convenient, but convenience is not the same thing as medical care. The government is filing lawsuits, patients are being harmed, and the companies keep running because a few million dollars in fines means nothing when they make billions. If you do not know what state your doctor is in, what medical school they went to, or how to reach them in an emergency, you are not seeing a doctor. You are seeing a paid actor or worse, AI pretending to be a clinician. Mental health care is not customer service. It is medical treatment that needs training, accountability, and real human oversight.
