Our residents are enjoying National Nursing Home Week! Yesterday we had an outdoor carnival filled with games, a stilt man, balloon art, tapestry painting and the Kona Ice truck! Residents and staff really enjoyed it!

As you all know, Hurricane Helene left a path of damage and destruction across western North Carolina. This has impacted the lives of many heroic caregivers working in nursing facilities across the mountain region. The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association in partnership with FutureCare NC, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, has created the FutureCare NC Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. Donations made to this fund will directly contribute to the employees of the nursing facilities in western North Carolina that were affected by Hurricane Helene. To contribute to this fund, Clapp’s Nursing Home will be having a hotdog sale on Thursday, October 24th from 11am – 12:30pm. The hotdog plate will include 2 hot dogs, chips, a cookie and a drink. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $7 from the front office beginning today, Tuesday, Oct 15th. Hotdog plates can also be purchased during the sale on Oct 24th, from 11-12:30. This sale is cash only. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the FutureCare NC Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. For other ways to donate, please go to NCHCFA.org. Thank you so much for helping us support our fellow caregivers of Western North Carolina in a time when they need it most.

The rain didn't stop our fall festival at Clapp's today! Our residents enjoyed ring toss, nerf blaster, darts, bean bag toss, and painting - all with a fall theme of course! They also enjoyed popcorn, deep fried oreos and funnel cakes. Thank you to our employees for helping to make this a fun-filled day for our residents - you all rock!
