February is American Heart Month and the American Heart Association has teamed up with The Children’s Heart Foundation to promote women’s heart health and raise awareness about congenital heart defects through the “Little Hats, Big Hearts” program. This program provides red hats to all babies born in the month of February at participating hospitals along with a packet of information for the parents on women’s heart health and congenital heart defects. Skin to skin care is beneficial to new babies, both babies born near their due date and babies that are born early. At Randolph Hospital we, like the hospital pictured, encourage skin to skin by mommy or by the baby's special people in their lives. This big brother is absolutely precious as he provides very beneficial care to his siblings!

A young boy has been praised online after a heartwarming photo of him helping his father give skin to skin contact to his premature twin siblings went viral. Love this! (Credit: Facebook/NINO Birth)
