Lets get to know Addy!
1. Who do you love working with most?
-I love working with adults, adolescents, and teens!
2.What is one thing people misunderstand about therapy?
-You should feel ashamed for receiving therapy, or that something is “wrong” with you if you receive therapy. This could not be further from the truth. Attending therapy shows that you were brave enough to recognize and ask for help when you needed it.
3.Favorite way to spend a Saturday?
-My favorite way to spend a Saturday is going to get an iced coffee in the morning with my pups (they get pup cups of course), watch a good show or documentary, spend time with my friends and family!
4.What is your go-to therapy approach or style?
-I always take a person-centered approach during each session. Also, I tend to use CBT techniques, but I will pull from different modalities based on what my client needs.
5.What do you hope clients feel when they leave a session with you?
-I hope my clients feel a bit lighter and confident in navigating their lives outside of our sessions.
6.Are you a morning person or night owl?
-I’m more of a night owl. However, when I am up early in the morning, I like to be as productive as possible.
7.What is your favorite quote?
-My favorite quote is “everything happens for a reason.” I believe that there is a reason behind everything. Although, we may not realize the reasoning at the moment, with time, the reason may become clearer.
8.What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
-The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is that “you can do anything you put your mind to.”
9.Favorite book, show, or podcast right now?
-My favorite show right now is Abbott Elementary. I think this show is hilarious. It also does a great job of shining a light on real issues happening around us.
10.Why did you become a therapist?
-I became a therapist for a few different reasons. One of which was because I noticed that people would naturally come to me to talk about any issues/struggles they were facing. This made me feel like it was my calling to become a therapist.
