The goal of hospice care is to make the patient feel more comfortable, more at peace, and more in control. While the majority of hospice care is provided in private homes and long-term care facilities, there are times when the patient may benefit from more intensive medical management of symptoms or even a brief period of respite for their caregiver. In these situations, Randolph Hospice House is an excellent solution.

A special message from our Grief Counseling Center...

Valentine’s Day can be especially difficult for those who are grieving, as it emphasizes feelings of loss and loneliness. While the day is typically associated with love and celebration, for those mourning, it can serve as a painful reminder of the absence of a loved one.

The emphasis on romantic relationships and connection can intensify emotions, making the day feel isolating. For many, the grief they’re experiencing can be magnified by the societal pressure to "celebrate" love, while celebrating is the last thing a bereaved individual feels like doing.

Valentine's Day doesn't have to be about traditional celebrations—it can be a day of showing love in a way that aligns with your healing process. This year, Valentine’s Day may revolve around self-love or showing love to the family and friends who have offered you support in your grieving journey.

However you choose to spend Valentine’s Day this year, remember that there is no “right” way to grieve. It is essential to honor your personal needs.
