Hey All!

We're launching our newest program Healthy Belly, Happy Brain!

This program will build raised beds for mental health programs across NC to help individuals struggling with mental health improve physical and mental health!

Gardening for mental health has a well established body of research showing that increased activity and nutritional benefits of home grown foods can lengthen and improve the quality of life for individuals struggling with severe mental illness.

There are tons of ways to help! You can help by:
-Volunteering your time to help build raised beds
-Donate seeds, soil, and gardening supplies
-Donate funds to help us buy the supplies we need.

We had an amazing time hosting our fund raiser at Innovation Station in Dillsboro, NC while raffling off items donated by Asheville, NC's Salvage Station. A very special thank you to all the folks that came out and had a drink with us to also support funding for Dogwood Nutrition Consulting.

We look forward to our continued partnership with the amazing neighbors of western North Carolina!!!

Agency Partner Spotlight:
Easter Seals Adult Group Home in Morganton, NC

Residents of Adult Group Home in Morganton, NC did an amazing job last week with cooking our healthy nacho recipe and coming up with some new menu recipe ideas to switch up their menu to include more nutritious choices.

We're thrilled to be working with this group and hope to do more work helping folks facing mental illness and IDD making healthy choices a habit to improve health outcomes for our community!

We're looking for members for our directing board!

We're looking for folks with experience in nutrition, social determinants, health disparity, mental health, Medicaid and Medicare, nutrition business, and experience working in the western North Carolina region.

Requirements include a bi-monthly meeting, providing insight and direction for the non profit organization and assist in directing and functioning of the organization

This is an unpaid, volunteer position that supports your community's effort to better support individuals with mental illness and create connections in the western North Carolina region

Guys, if you haven't checked out Salvage Station, it's a "must-see" when visiting Asheville. Plenty of space for safe distance, yummy food, great drinks, and incredible staff! It's one of my go-to's in the summertime since it's right off the river.
