I was able to check in with Ms. Carrie this morning and update our needs list. We have had an AMAZING response from the community in supporting our animals. Please be well. 💛 I'm taking a day to practice what I preach and engage in some self care, but I will monitor messages as best as I can!

Hi friends,

Ms. Lauren here. I was able to talk to Ms. Carrie a couple of times today, and here are some updates:

✴️The animals are all doing well- Ms. Carrie and Ms. Miranda are able to check on them daily.

✴️Our biggest needs continue to be rain barrels and ESPECIALLY senior horse feed. Our preferred brand is Pro Elite Senior Feed, but it is so hard to find right now. You would get an in person hug from our team if you could find some. Unfortunately, because our animals are rescued, and most aged, if at all possible we need specific formulas to keep them healthy. If you are interested in donating, please DM me!

✴️We also need bedding pellets for the horses.

✴️Fancy Feast wet food and Purina cat chow would also be appreciated.

✴️Very soon we will also be in need of the following: Mazuri mini pig food elder formula, Purina textured goat feed, and low starch horse feed.

It is SUCH a gift to have community both within WNC and throughout the Southeast reach out to see what we need. Thank you, thank you, thank you from every single one of us. I will keep you updated if we can accept shipping donations as days go on. We promise to send you a photo of a well-fed animal alongside a thank you note if you include your address 💌🤗. Hello everyone, I'm so sorry to just now be checking in. I've made contact with Ms. Carrie, her family, and Ms. Miranda- they are safe and still in the area caring for our animals. My family and I managed to make it east yesterday to stay with family, but one of our beloved family dogs couldn't handle the stress and passed on the journey. Ms. Carrie and Ms. Miranda have ensured that all of our animals are safe and cared for.

As we all now know, our area is absolutely devastated. I will be sending emails and texts out to clients tomorrow to try to set up any check ins that you would like, if you are able. These will all be happening virtually for now. Normally I would only be sharing this information in an email, but I want to try to reach clients through all platforms available to us to let everyone know we and the animals are safe.

I cannot express enough the level of our love and concern for each and every one of our clients, fellow coworkers, and community members. I've vacillated between deep grief and horror at seeing the devastation around us, and overwhelming pride and awe at watching first responders and neighbors do the work we discuss and practice in every one of our sessions. There's no sight quite like a neighbor offering to move furniture out of a neighbor's home when his own is flooded, like the feeling in your chest watching people who've never spoken before hugging in the streets, and for me personally, like having a freshly cooked meal (thank you ) after a frightening night. The human spirit truly does persevere.

We love you, we miss each of you desperately, and will be checking in.
