We did some pottery painting last week and made each piece our own! Special thanks to Dana for putting this activity together!

Faye's Place Elder Club is where older adults can socialize and participate in fun activities, like the one shown here! It meets three days a week from 11am-2pm in Asheville, along with one day a week in Hendersonville. Attendees do light exercises and enjoy a nutritious lunch prepared by a chef on-site.

Meet George White, LCMHC

George is a licensed mental health counselor at JFS and is leading our new counseling program serving residents at Givens Ge**er Park and Givens Highland Farms.

With more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field, George specializes in supporting individuals navigating the challenges of aging and major life transitions. He provides a compassionate space where clients can explore concerns, build resilience, and improve their quality of life.

Outside of work, George enjoys spending time at his mountain cabin, walking his dog, reading, and playing traditional music on his violin and guitar.

We’re grateful to have George helping expand mental health support for seniors in our community.

We are proud to announce a new partnership between JFS of WNC and Givens Communities, bringing mental health counseling directly to residents at Givens Ge**er Park and Givens Highland Farms. Through our Healing Solutions Counseling program, JFS counselors are now providing on-site mental health services to support older adults navigating anxiety, depression, loneliness, and life transitions.

Special thanks to Taylor Thompson for featuring this partnership yesterday on WLOS ABC 13 yesterday. Nearly one in three Americans over age 65 has been diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Expanding access to care for seniors is more important than ever, and we’re honored to support our community in this way.
