A special thank you to Ontrack Financial for putting together the Ladies Night Credit Awareness event last week! During this event, attendees received a free credit report from three main agencies, along with guidance to better understand their results.

While clients waited for their turn, they could check out the different community organizations tabling at the event to see what services they offered. Jewish Family Services of WNC was proud to participate and share information about our accessible mental health counseling, case management, and senior support services for individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.

Following up on our earlier announcement about Rachel's departure from Jewish Family Services of WNC, we wanted to share some pictures from her last day with us. We all got to show her just how much she meant to us, with our elder club gifting her a binder full of thank‑you letters recognizing her hard work and dedication over the years.

The staff came together to gift her a signed flower pot, and share a cake as we celebrated this new chapter in Rachel's life.

We want to express our gratitude to our chef and kitchen manager, Rachel Miriam for 5 incredible years. Rachel recently graduated with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is moving forward to a new phase in her career.

From providing nourishing meals at Faye’s Place Elder Club to holiday meals that brought comfort and joy, Rachel’s work has touched so many lives. We’re excited for her next chapter, and deeply grateful for all she’s given to JFS.

Thank you, Rachel. You will be missed!

Our vinegar and baking soda experiment made a SPLASH! We got to watch the explosive chemical reaction in action, ending with our bags bubbling up all over the place. Definitely one of the more messy experiments we have done at Faye's Place Elder Club.

Faye's Place Elder Club is where older adults can socialize and participate in fun activities, like the one shown here! It meets three days a week from 11am-2pm in Asheville, along with one day a week in Hendersonville. Attendees do light exercises and enjoy a nutritious lunch prepared by a chef on-site.

Follow along for more updates about what we get up to at Elder Club, and JFS as a whole!

These donations will allow us to continue to provide accessible counseling for our community.

We had a wonderful time at the Caring for the Caregiver event in Hendersonville! Laura Baker Seseika, the Business Development Director at MAP, shared helpful tips on self‑care, stress management, and support systems, and attendees had the chance to connect with organizations like ours that uplift caregivers every day.

Special thanks to Laura Baker Seseika for inviting us and to Grace Lutheran Church for hosting this event!

Thank you to Taylor Thompson and WLOS ABC 13 for featuring JFS' mental health counseling programs. We have many solutions in place to make mental health care affordable and accessible to our WNC community. Thank you to Taylor for helping us let more people know that we're here to help.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Nearly 30 million people across the U.S lack access to affordable, comprehensive mental health and substance treatment.
