If shin splints are slowing you down, you’re not alone. That sharp ache in your lower legs after a run or workout is your body waving a red flag—and ignoring it only makes things worse.

The good news? You can take control before it takes you out of the game. With the right shin splint stretches, you’ll ease the tightness, improve blood flow, and get back to moving pain-free.

At WildHawk Physical Therapy, we see this all the time. Whether you’re training for your next race or trying to stay active without setbacks, stretching plays a huge role in healing and preventing shin pain.

Here’s where to start if you want real relief that lasts:

Focus on mobility in your calves, ankles, and feet
Stretch before and after your workouts
Pay attention to form and alignment when moving

About Us

Owners and Founders Ryan Barragree and Christian Busch opened WildHawk Physical Therapy in 2020. The two became friends while doctoral candidates at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. There, they learned they were both diehard sports fans: Ryan, a Kansas State Wildcat, and Christian, a Kansas Jayhawk. As Ryan and Christian envisioned the perfect name for their physical therapist-owned, private practice, WildHawk Physical Therapy was born.

WildHawk Physical Therapy delivers the highest quality of care, driven by a patient’s specific needs and goals. With patient care always at the forefront, Ryan and Christian provide ample time and attention befitting the unique condition of each and every individual in their practice.
