A massage that truly helps shoulder pain feels like your body exhaling, like a burden being lifted-not just from the muscle, but from your whole sense of being.
I’ve seen a lot of people with shoulder pain coming in lately. If this is you too, give me a call. I’m happy to help you. Shoulder issues in the tissues can be just under the surface or something much deeper. Massage can help! During a massage you will often feel the tension melt away and let go leaving you feeling lighter, more mobile and flexible. Here are some things you can expect to feel after massage on a cranky shoulder:
*Lightness & Freedom: your shoulder may feel looser, lighter or even taller- as if weight or stiffness has been removed.
* Better Flexibility: you may be able to lift your arm higher, reach back more easily, or move without hesitation.
*Warmth & Circulation: The area might feel warmer or more “alive”, thanks to improved blood flow instigated by the massage.
*Mental Relief: The physical benefits of massage are great! Along with that can come mental benefits too such as feeling calmer, less anxious, or mentally clearer. Fun Fact: shoulder tension can carry emotional stress too.
*Soreness (in some cases): a good massage can sometimes leave you feeling a bit sore. But it should be a the good kind of sore, such as a post-workout kind of fatigue. This will fade and you will feel lasting relief in its place.
