Today is my last day here in this sweet room. Leaving this special space at 201 Charlotte Street feels so bittersweet. So much has happened in this room over the past five years. There has been learning, healing, growing, crying, laughing, and change. I have been able to be witness to so many stories; of birth, of relief, of loss, of grief and of fear. It was my safe haven in the darkness of my postpartum journey. It was the place I masked up and was the only provider that didn’t go virtual for what felt like years. This house held many stories before mine (from tuberculosis healing to midwifery practices) and will hold many stories after mine but I feel so grateful to get to be a small part of its legacy. I am so grateful for every patient who has trusted me to treat them in this room, it will always have a special place in my heart and will always be the birthplace of Asheville Pelvic Health.
