OK, folks. The health department is giving guidance to potentially exposed folks. Over the next three weeks, everyone in the healthcare community will be on high alert, and we will see how things go from there. There will be some extra hoops for all of us, but it is all in an effort to keep everyone safe.

Two new cases of measles have been confirmed in preschool and school-aged siblings in Buncombe County, according to local officials.

Update: The measles outbreak in SC is still surging with 90+ new cases since Tuesday. There are so far only the 3 cases here that most likely contracted it in Spartanburg. Please continue to watch for cold symptoms with high fever, red eyes, and rash in folks not immunized. If you see these symptoms in a loved one, keep them isolated and call us for guidance. We will be screening people heavily to prevent any spread at the office.

There is also a chicken pox outbreak currently happening, as well as spread of a pretty nasty flu A virus. Be careful out there.

PLEASE if your child has fever, rash and cold symptoms and you are coming to see us for ANY reason, stay in your car once here and call in to us. We would rather come to see your child in the car than risk transmission in the office. Thank you!!!!

OK, folks. There are some kids in Buncombe county who contracted measles, most likely from Spartanburg county per our health department. We would strongly recommend vaccinating your kids, 6 months and older, if they are not already. Call us during business hours and we can arrange shot visits.
