It’s getting close! We hope to see you there!

We are 2 weeks away from the 11th Annual "Autumn Festival: Caring About You.” Thursday September 18, 2025, 10am-2pm at Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville, NC.

This is is not your typical festival. It's interactive, encouraging seniors, caregivers, and our local communities to live the best life possible.

- Four informative presentations will take place center court educating attendees with the knowledge to assist themselves and their loved ones, have their questions answered, and meet with presenters:

1) 10:00am Older Adults Isolation. The power of cultivating social
relationships, building community and improving life.
Presented by Bethanie Templeton, MSW.

2) 11:00am Scams & Identity Theft. Identify prevalent scams and
frauds, how to respond, and keep your information safe.
Presented by NC Department of Justice Outreach.

3) 12:00pm Medical and Patient Fraud. Types of cases, signs,
reporting process and whistleblower protection. Presented by
NC Department of Justice Outreach.

4) 1:00pm Artificial Intelligences (AI) Impact on Older Adults.
Presented by NC Department of Justice Outreach.

-Vaccines including flu & covid will be provided by the Henderson County Department of Public Health. Remember to bring your insurance cards.

- Over 50+ local vendors and resource exhibitors will be present to inform, educate and build attendees knowledge of aging resources in our local communities.

- Health screening, networking and interactive demonstrations will take place throughout the day.

-Remember to pick-up a FREE tote bag at the Aging Projects exhibitor table to hold all your resource material.

- FREE TO ATTEND, due to our Collaborative Festival Platinum Partner, our 10 Festival Sponsorships and 50+ Festival Reserved Exhibitors.

This is a important. Please take the time to read the NY Times article.

Traditional Medicare will begin a pilot program requiring prior approval for certain procedures taking these decisions out of the hands of you and your doctor. “The federal government plans to hire private companies to use artificial intelligence to determine whether patients would be covered for some procedures” should be an alarm bell for where we are headed.

A pilot program in six states will use a tactic employed by private insurers that has been heavily criticized for delaying and denying medical care.

Join the as we celebrate Healthy Aging Day on Friday, September 5 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Reuter Family YMCA.

This free community event will feature group exercise classes, pickleball, informative lectures, free health screenings, vendor booths, free food and drinks, and giveaways.
