One year ago, Hurricane Helene brought unprecedented challenges to Western North Carolina, where Aeroflow Health is headquartered.
Today, we want to recognize the incredible resilience of our team members who gave so much back to our community despite the devastation.
The spirit of Western North Carolina shone brightly in the face of adversity. Local organizations, businesses, and individuals stepped up in remarkable ways to help one another through the storm. We are inspired by these stories of resilience, recovery, and rebuilding.
As we continue to heal and rebuild, there are many ways we can all continue to help. If you're looking for opportunities to give or receive support, here are a few ideas:
Ways to Give Back:
• Support Local Organizations: Consider donating to or volunteering with local non-profits. In Asheville, United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, and Haywood Street Community Development are still on the ground working on long-term recovery efforts.
• Give Blood: The Western North Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross is always in need of blood donations, which are critical in times of crisis.
• Volunteer: Look for local clean-up and rebuilding opportunities.
Ways to Receive Support:
• Dial 211: The United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County's 2-1-1 hotline can connect you with a wide range of local resources, from housing assistance to food aid.
•Community Events: Consider attending community events on this list: http://bit.ly/4gMQ74O
The path to recovery is long, but it's one we are walking together. We are proud to be a part of a community that demonstrates such strength, compassion, and commitment to a stronger, more connected future.
