Oh where did I even begin on this one?!? Sooo much love and intention went into that binder. My dear friend and colleague Julie Honeycutt, LPC and I are joining together this weekend to host this year's IFS Soul Care Retreat! We are truly honored to step into this work and cultivate a space for us all to heal together in community. I don't believe we are meant to do this deep work alone. The Maker made us to be known and loved. May Julie and I respectfully and graciously hold that in mind while we circle and gather together with others. Guess what friends and all people longing for soul care? Soul surgery is a thing! The best part, absolutely no anesthesia or scalpels needed! I just can't get enough of the sky in this photo I took off my back deck. It awakens so much in my heart and draws me into feeling the love from our Creator. There is no filter or editing just beauty. Today we have an incredible winter wonderland in Asheville, the snow cultivates an entirely different experience of beauty and cleanses nature with soft subtle blankets and everything gets quiet and still. I'll post more beauty from the snow later. How is beauty preparing your soul for healing? When you gaze at creation what happens within your soul?

May holy beauty be made today in the midst of this small and lovely space. May the bounty and nutrients of this feast heal the hearts and nourish the souls of my sweet babies. Cooking is a form of expression and art that blesses beyond words. Sending love to your kitchens and may we remember those who are not able to prepare a meal in their own homes. How can we share our bounty and consider ways to make systemic change beyond the kitchen?

I am so excited for my newest addition to arrive at my office. Thanks to a training I am watching, Janina Fisher had a little kangaroo with a mama kangaroo plush toy to help clients to talk about and connect with their inner child parts (the little girl or boy from the client's childhood). If you do your own parts work with someone or a therapist I'd love to hear which images or items you use to identify your parts. My inner child part loves the idea of a cute baby kanga!

So often when someone is doing deep healing work they will find they get stuck, blocked, frozen, or overwhelmed. This has totally happened to me! The person is not doing anything wrong or failing at the process; it is possible that the deep wound, younger vulnerable inner child, or the trauma memory has to slow things down in order to trust the person and reassess safety. If our deep wound senses any judgement, shame, rage, or hurt from any other aspect in the interior landscape of the soul healing will stall. This is good. This allows time for the Holy Spirit to prepare and alert the person to the safety they must create before healing the deeper wound. If my hurt thinks I will reject it or shame it my hurt will shy away, dissociate, or go blank until it senses it's safe enough to come back up. If my hurt doesn't feel safe in the environment or culture it may again hide and not be seen. Jesus can fully see and heal old wounds, but sometime He doesn't just jump in and make it "all better". He is not a co-dependent God, He is a interdependent God longing for your Self to be mature, safe, and ready to go to the younger and deeper wound that needs you. So take heart my friend, if you have been at this healing journey for a long time, you are not failing, you're maturing, learning, growing. In due time may your deep hurt be able to trust you and be ready to receive the love you have to offer.

Today was day 1 of IFS level 3 training. I was so amazed at how well the zoom experience went. It was probably by far the best personal zoom experience I've had. Send me good wishes and prayers as I spend the next 4 days training! This is the last level of this training and I am so grateful for the opportunity to do this.
