Death Doula Collective

Death Doula Collective Guiding and supporting the end-of-life needs of individuals and their families. Death Doulas are sacred passage guides for the end of life. Atul Gawande

Our purpose is to support the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and practical needs of individuals (and their family and caregivers) who are in the dying stages of their life. For our community, we serve to initiate, change, and promote the consciousness and conversations around death and dying. Our mission is to "restore death to its sacred place in the beauty, mystery, and celebration of life." ~ Conscious Dying Institute. "The only way death is acceptable, is because we, as humans beings, live for something bigger than ourselves."

On a Q&A portion of a doula call, I said, "There are so many variables in doula work, and the constant is compassionate presence." That rang so true for me. Trish

How lucky am I? I got to learn from these two terrific women in the end-of-life doula program that is now the Conscious Dying Collective back in March of 2020 (yep – we pivoted to an online program)… And now, in 2026, I get to interview them about their informative, dynamic, thoughtful new book: Dying Matters: 8 Conversations That Can Change Your Life.

Such a great conversation.

Grief does not just impact one person. It can change the rhythm of an entire household.

When you are grieving with the people you live with, things can feel complicated. One person may want to talk, another may shut down. One may need closeness, another may need space. Even when you are carrying the same loss, it can feel like you are living in completely different grief worlds.

That distance can be painful, especially when what you need most is understanding.

If you have ever felt out of sync with the people around you in grief, you are not alone.

We only hold this course twice a year, and registration closes tomorrow!

Befriending Death is an invitation to explore your relationship with mortality in a thoughtful, supportive space—and in doing so, discover what truly matters in your life.

Over the course of 7 weeks, you’ll be guided through North Star: A Guide for Living and Dying with Purpose, creating your own end-of-life planning document while reflecting on your values, wishes, relationships, and legacy.

Through live Zoom gatherings, experiential exercises, and meaningful conversation, this course helps transform death from something we avoid into something we can approach with curiosity, clarity, and intention.

Many people leave this course not only with their plans in place—but with a deeper sense of how they want to live.

If this has been on your heart, this is the moment.

Registration closes tomorrow.
