Yesterday we worked with students on the practice of letting go. On what memories and objects and feelings felt too important – too precious – to put down. And if we had the courage to try. We talked about making space for new, and what students hope is just around the corner. Today’s our last day with the students of Woodson Branch Nature School. We’ll be back there Monday morning first thing for their teachers’ professional development day.
The YMCA of Western North Carolina has connected us to their ELISS programs with McDowell County middle schoolers. We’ll be working out details this morning for next week. And @unitedwayabc has been helping us navigate the best approach and schedule for programs over in the Reynolds District.
Time to work out the details of implementation and scheduling for the first round of the 60+ mental health professionals who signed up for this project as we continue to hear from multiple counties looking to provide social emotional learning and experiential activities for their students.
Thanks for the support so far. Please keep it comin’. Take good care.
