Fellowship: Urologic Oncology, Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, WA

A native of Forest, MS, Dr. Burns attended Ole Miss for his undergraduate studies. Dr. Burns has practiced urology in Asheville since 2018. Dr. Burns' special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancers, open/robotic/laparoscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery of the kidney and ureter, treatment and prevention of kidney stones, and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Burns is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association and Society of Urologic Oncology.

Our Asheville and Hendersonville offices are currently closed due to power and water outages. We are working diligently to secure safe openings for both offices. Our estimated date of re-opening will be Monday 10/7 for urgent issues as we triage through the backlog of patient care communications. We will update this page as we determine more details.

The impact from this storm was unprecedented, and we all were impacted in some shape or form. We are here as your urological service provider, and we stand strong with each and every one of you as we make it through the coming days. Our answering service is fielding calls and routing the messages to our providers. Please be patient with us as we work towards stabilizing our offices for safe re-opening.

With endings come new beginnings. We would also like to take this time to introduce Asheville Urological's newest urologist, Dr. Dominic Grimberg. Welcome to the AUA team Dr. Grimberg!

Born in Durham, North Carolina but raised in Potsdam, New York, Dr. Grimberg joins Asheville Urological Associates after finishing his Urology residency at Duke University. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies in biological engineering. Dr. Grimberg specializes in robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and open urologic surgeries. He is interested in full spectrum general urology including the medical and surgical management of cancers of the genitourinary system, enlarged prostate, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction among many other urologic conditions. Dr. Grimberg is a member of the American Urological Association.

We would like to take this time to celebrate the retirement of Dr. Cargill. We cannot begin to thank him enough for all his years of service to the urology community of Western North Carolina.
