Those rough, dry patches that pop up from too much sun exposure? They might be actinic keratoses (AKs)—and while they’re common, they can sometimes turn into something more serious if left untreated.

Ever noticed a fast-growing, dome-shaped bump on the skin with a central crater? It could be keratoacanthoma — a type of skin lesion that looks benign but can mimic squamous cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer).

🧠 What you should know:
✨ Often appears suddenly and grows rapidly
✨ Usually found on sun-exposed areas (face, hands, arms)
✨ Can be mistaken for a pimple or cyst
✨ May shrink on its own—but don’t wait

🔍 Why it matters: Requires biopsy or removal to rule out skin cancer. Early diagnosis is key.
