Surgery Day 2:
I don’t plan on further posts, but l am amazed at what can happen with alternative pain control methods.
Because of my RA, my body no longer tolerates any rx or OTC pain meds, including Tylenol, so l was very worried about post-op recovery.
Answer:
Vibrants biofrequency pain patches
Arnica and also bromelain starting 2 days before for bruising and swelling.
Infrared eye mask from CVS (meant for sinus pain but infrared near the bandage site is a godsend).
Ice (frozen peas in a baggie)
All of this is affordable.
On the pricier side, acupuncture the day before surgery, and continuing to use my (infrared) Biomat daily.
As a backup, l found Genexa liquid children’s acetominophen, which l only had to take 2 doses of yesterday, in the amount for 4-7 years old. None today. Genexa is a line of “clean” OTC pain meds, allergy relief etc, without the additives and fillers, which is what often causes side effects. Cost about the same as Tylenol, and available at CVS, Walgreens and Kroger.
Still resting and slightly uncomfortable today, but not enough to medicate.
So l thought someone trying to avoid taking pain meds would like to know.
Thanks to all who sent supportive thoughts yesterday.
