Homegrown Families: Asheville Childbirth Education & Doula Services

Homegrown Families: Asheville Childbirth Education & Doula Services Growing Strong Communities through Education, Support, and Connection during Pregnancy, Childbirth and into Parenthood.

Homegrown Families provides childbirth education and doula services with the aim to deconstruct the systems of white supremacy and racism within health care, creating opportunities for equitable access to collective community care across under-resourced and historically marginalized communities. We support our clients no matter how parents choose to give birth or parent their children. We give the highest quality information and allow parents the spaciousness to make the decisions that are right for their family. We normalize what parents are going through and provide hands-on, empathetic, compassionate care.

🤔 When did you decide to announce your pregnancy? Would you do it differently next time?

Was it as soon as you took the test? After the first trimester? Maybe even once baby arrived? 😉

🤷🏼‍♀️ No wrong answers here! It’s alllll about preference and when YOU feel comfortable.

❤️ Repost from Undefining Motherhood ❤️

“ Postpartum is full of contradictions.

You might be head-over-heels in love with your baby and still miss your old life.
You might be grateful for your healing body and still wish you felt “like yourself” again.
You might want to hold your baby all day and still long for just an hour alone.

All of it is valid. All of it belongs.

In my own postpartum seasons, I’ve learned that you don’t have to pick a single narrative. You can feel joy and grief, gratitude and frustration, peace and overwhelm—all in the same breath.

When you stop trying to “make sense” of every emotion and just allow them, you realize you’re not doing it wrong. You’re simply living the complexity of motherhood.

If you’re in this season right now, my Postpartum Playbook is here to help you navigate it with compassion for yourself and practical tools to make life feel lighter.

💗 Week-by-week healing guidance
💗 Mental health check-ins + when to ask for help
💗 Simple food, sleep, and boundary plans
💗 Partner support tools so you’re not carrying it all alone

📖 You deserve support that sees 𝘢𝘭𝘭 of you in this season.
