Hurricane Helene was devastating for so many people and businesses throughout western North Carolina, including our own. Due to the damage to our facility, we have temporarily relocated to continue serving our community.

All loved ones in our care at the time of the disaster were our utmost priority. We assure you that all human remains of loved ones remained safely in our care for the duration of the storm. They were all safely recovered within 72 hours with the help of staff from Penland Family Funeral Home, Groce Funeral Home, and Shuler Funeral Home. We are deeply grateful for the compassion and assistance they provided during our time of need.

Our team has already started rebuilding efforts and we aim to be back on Riverside Drive before the end of 2024.

Our hearts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Helene. We hope our community continues to show compassion and patience as we collectively heal and recover.

With sincere appreciation,

The Penland Family

Social isolation and loneliness can take a serious toll on elders, psychologically and physically. (Over 75, almost a quarter of men and nearly 46 percent of women live alone, the Census Bureau reports.) We can understand the risks of isolation and an underpopulated, disconnected life. “For a host of reasons, no one is addressing the individual’s daily needs — food, medication, medical appointments,” Ms. Moscowitz explains. http://nyti.ms/2j6fy78
