I am heart broken as once again a dear friend has passed over unexpectedly. The world lost one of its best creations yesterday with the sudden passing of Erin Larsen. She was truly a rare gem, one of my favorite people of all time. Erin was devoted to helping others through her yoga and her bodywork. her passion and her love for helping others was contagious. I can't even begin to imagine all of those folks that she has touched and all the lives that she has blessed.
I met Erin when she came to me as a student a decade ago and since then, she has returned to Asheville a dozen times or so to help assist me with my Thai Massage workshops. Erin joined my trip to Thailand and became my assistant and yoga teacher for that excursion. I recently graduated Erin to become my first approved teacher of Thai Yoga Bodywork and she was exceptional at it. Her students fell in love with the work and with Erin's generous spirit. In that process I can say that not only did she become a dear friend but also my teacher, as I have learned so much from her...Erin inspired to me to go deeper into my practice, to embrace more of the spiritual aspects of our work, to always come from the heart and to give freely and joyfully. She will live on in my heart and in my practice as I hope to honor her through my sessions and my teachings...She will be missed beyond the beyond and forever appreciated. Erin, you are so loved...Shine on from above dear one

The Thailand 2025 Study Abroad program is almost full...I have just 3 spots left! If you have been thinking about going, I highly recommend going this year as I can not guarantee that I will continue to offer this opportunity beyond 2025. Let me know if you are interested!

It is with a sad heart that I share the news of the passing of our beloved Thai Massage teacher, Ahjarn Pichet Boonthume.
He passed away peacefully last night in his sleep. Pichest was world renowned for his unique blend of Buddhism, Thai Medicine and Thai Bodywork. He was a true master of his craft and was one of the first Thai to teach westerners.
I had the great privilege of first meeting him in 1999 and then returning to study with him many times since. In the past five years, he taught my students as I would bring over groups each year. It was always a highlight of the trip, as there is no one else quite like him. He was both intensely serious with his devotion to his practice and still maintained a childlike joy that was easily observed through his huge smile and heart.
Pichest, you will be missed dearly. My heart and my prayers are with you, your family and this community. Thank you for all the years of devotion and for sharing so generously with me and all of us.
