Turning your world upside down might be exactly what you need 🧘‍♂️
Inversions don’t just build strength… they shift your perspective, challenge your fears, and bring a deep sense of clarity.
When you flip your body, you:
✨ Break mental patterns
✨ Build confidence
✨ Calm or energize your nervous system (depending on the pose)
But here’s the real lesson: it’s not about getting upside down—it’s about how you get there. Slow. Steady. Intentional.
Sometimes growth looks like standing on your own two feet.

Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose) isn’t just about balance—it’s training your brain in a big way.

When you’re in this pose, your body has to constantly figure out where it is in space (that’s your proprioception at work). Every tiny wobble forces your brain to make rapid adjustments, activating stabilizing muscles in your ankles, hips, and core to keep you steady.

At the same time, you’re doing a LOT more than just balancing:
🌙 Opening through the chest
💪 Strengthening the outer hips and legs
🔄 Adding a gentle twist

All of that, in one shape.

So if you feel shaky, unfocused, or challenged—good. That means your brain and body are working together in the best way.

Balance isn’t just physical… it’s neurological too. ✨

Iyengar Yoga Asheville opened its doors in June 2018. Asheville’s first dedicated Iyengar studio, this beautiful newly renovated space is located in the historic Grovewood Village of Asheville, NC. The vision of IYAVL is to help students progress by providing them with the opportunity and inspiration to study and practice. In addition to a full schedule of classes, the studio offers open practice times throughout the day for members to utilize the space for personal practice.
