I've seen quite a few posts on various platforms bashing Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar lately, mainly citing the Katy Perry takeover / Bill Gates / use of APEEL in the vinegar. I saw so many comments that said for sure Apeel must now be in Bragg's ACV.

Since I use Bragg's ACV, I decided to contact Bragg's directly and ask them. I sent them an email asking exactly that - is there Apeel on the apples you use to make your raw apple cider vinegar? They replied immediately and said NO. So I asked, well how do you know? I mean, if they are not putting it on labels at Wholefoods, then how would you know if your source of apples has Apeel or not?

They replied and explained that they purchase their organic apples directly from orchards. The apples are sent straight from the orchard to the Bragg's facility for making the ACV. If the apples had Apeel on them, they would have to go from the orchard to a processing plant where the Apeel coating is applied and then be distributed from there. They would not go back to the orchard. When you purchase directly from an orchard, there is no Apeel on the apple.

Now I'm not saying that the Bragg's vinegar hasn't changed in recent years. I totally agree that there is less Mother in it than before and it seems to be watered down. But, I feel better knowing that there is no Apeel in the vinegar.

Below are the test results showing heavy metals in chicken feed (even certified organic feed) done by Mike Adams aka the Health Ranger. These are the feeds that you can buy at Tractor Supply stores. The metals shown are Arsenic, Cadmium and Lead.

What's important to understanding is this: NO certified organic food is tested for heavy metal contamination (for chickens, humans, dogs, cats or otherwise). If the feed is high in heavy metals, then the eggs will contain concentrations as well, and the meat if you raise meat chickens. Also the bone, if you make bone broth, since heavy metals are typically stored in the tissue, bone and fat of the animal.

This is just the beginning of opening this can of worms! (And yes, real worms would be a better option / safer food for the chooks!!)

I have been warning clients about Titanium Dioxide for years, especially because it's a common ingredient in many of the expensive Magnesium supplements. Always check your labels and learn what additives to avoid!

It's that time of year, yep, we just finished our Gallstone Liver Flush and are happy to be on the "seeing the results" part (which I will not show!).

I like to do this flush in the fall, before the holiday season and well before the New Year. That way, I'm going into the holidays feeling healthy and clean. Then again in the late spring, as a way to cleanse the liver after eating more heavier and/or cooked foods during the colder months winter.

Homemade baby formula recipe by Sally Fallon from the book Nourishing Traditions under the section called "Feeding Babies":

(Note that there is a Milk based formula recipe and also a Meat based formula recipe for any infants with a milk or dairy allergy)

MILK-BASED FORMULA
Makes 36 ounces

- 2 cups organic, certified clean raw milk or organic pasteurized, non-homogenized piima milk, preferably from pasture-fed Jersey or Guernsey cows
- 1⁄4 cup homemade liquid
- 4 tablespoons lactose
- 1⁄4 teaspoon bifodobacterium infantis
- 2 tablespoons good quality cream (not ultra-pasteurized)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon high-vitamin or 1 teaspoon regular cod liver oil
- 1 teaspoon unrefined sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
- 2 teaspoons gelatin
- 1 7/8 cups filtered water
- 1⁄4 teaspoon acerola powder

Add gelatin to water and heat gently until gelatin is dissolved. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Transfer to a very clean glass or stainless steel container and mix well. (Note: If milk is from Holstein cows, add an additional 1-2 tablespoons cream.)

To serve, pour 6 to 8 ounces into a very clean glass bottle, attach ni**le and set in a pan of simmering water. Heat until warm but not hot to the touch, shake bottle well and feed baby. (Never, never heat formula in a microwave oven!)

Variation: Goat Milk Formula
Although goat milk is rich in fat, it must be used with caution in infant feeding as it lacks folic acid and is low in vitamin B12, both of which are essential to the growth and development of the infant. Inclusion of nutritional yeast to provide folic acid is essential. To compensate for low levels of vitamin B12, add 2 teaspoons organic raw chicken liver, frozen for 14 days, finely grated to the batch of formula. Be sure to begin egg-yolk feeding at four months.

A few ways to use fresh organic dandelion flowers: 1) dry them in a dehydrator for dandelion flower tea and 2) infuse the flowers in raw apple cider vinegar for 1 month, then drain the flowers and bottle the vinegar for a dandelion flower vinegar to add to salads. Tastes great and is excellent for the liver!
