We want to clarify an important message regarding Medicaid patients. Despite a recent glitch in the system that may have indicated otherwise, we are still accepting and serving our Medicaid patients!

Parents and Patients,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved office manager, Robert “Bob” Bankes. Bob was a vital part of our practice, he was the glue here at Asheville Children’s for the last 29 years, we are undeniably lucky to have had Bob by our side all those years. He was dedicated to taking care of not only our practice, but all of our employees and providers the same. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. There are no words to describe the impact that this loss has had on our ACMC family. Bob was truly one of a kind, he will be greatly missed by our team and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

During this time, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this loss together. We ask that you all extend grace and support towards our staff, as we face unprecedented changes as a practice.

We extend our deepest condolences to Bob’s family and loved ones.
