The cost of not being in our core as women is subtle at first.
It looks like being polite & ‘easy going’. But over time, the cost compounds.
When we are not rooted in our core we live in a constant state of survival.
The body becomes a place of hyper-vigilance instead of sovereignty.
This might look like mistaking chemistry for true intimacy, over-riding red flags, shrinking or over-functioning ; leading us to second guess our inner knowing and become more confused and more resentful over time.
The deeper cost to being disconnected from our core, is that we begin to believe that we are safer when we are small.
We start to mistake dissociation and compliance for true peace & regulation.
But I assure you that the pain of feeling the grief or loneliness of the world is far less than the pain of living estranged from our own power.
When we are in our core, we can feel deeply without being consumed; and we can love fiercely without abandoning ourselves.
Grief does not annihilate us; it moves through us, cleansing us, and opening us up to greater awareness.
While we may have found a certain degree of safety in fawning & freezing our way through life,
Eventually, we realize that the safety we found in ‘fitting in’ or dissociating from our core was the false safety of numbness, slowly suffocating us and eroding our true, authentic self.
The safety we find through embodiment is different; like deep, wide, wild, alive, roots.
Knowing that when the storm comes, we can bend, tremble, weep; and not be consumed or by the weight of it.
It’s safety in standing up for what we believe in, speaking our truth, and daring to move towards the gifts, dreams, and expressions we are carrying in our hearts.
It’s safety in true belonging and intimacy over false chemistry and ‘fitting in’.
It’s safety in leading from your truth and from your depth.. Unafraid to make waves and create change.
This is the capacity that we are building & reclaiming, together.
