Anxiety Triggers HOME

2024 was a year with many trailheads.

I had the great luck and pleasure of completing the IFS Institute Level 2 and 3 trainings in the same year.
Level 2 in January '24 -"Shame, Anxiety and Depression" an IFS Approach with Ann Sinko and Mike Elkin.
Level 3 in August -"A Compassionate Approach to Addictive Processes" with Cece Sykes
Please research some of these names on you-tube/podcasts etc as they are leaders in this heart-led movement.

Late September brought a geoligical event that decimated this area, leaving fractals grief in it's wake.

November ushered in a change in power that many persons with whom I'm in community with are feeling fearful and unsafe.

What now? I'm probably not the only one asking this question. Doing my own work with protectors and exiles are essential finding out my needs and knowing how to show up to them.

Witnessing my own parts that are grieving and having compassion for them is a beginning. Having my "self" see and understand them allows them to not have to be managed by other parts that may help me to not "feel" the feelings. It takes resources in the system to avoid feelings. The burdened managing of feelings and other expressions can affect the openness of the heart. We/I don't do so well with a protected heart that's limited in its openness.

So, what now? Is it possible to proceed through this with an open heart? Yes, of course it is. The medicine of self. The healing nature of self energy is alway present though some protector parts may not trust the "self" yet. The work is befriending these parts and begin the journey of witnessing and compassion that will set them free, slowly but surely restoring harmony to the system...One sweet part at time. We meet these parts at the "trailheads" and they show us where the healing and medicine needs to be.

This is a time for "self-led" advocacy. Advocacy from the heart. The real medicine. Our individual self has the capability to heal and so does our collective "self". Self led advocacy involves speaking FOR parts not FROM parts. We can have access to curiousity, clarity and compassion when we are not taken over by parts that hijack the initial mission. We can BE WITH our anger and not have it take over. We do need the fuel of anger sometimes to help advocate. Operating with an open heart is not being a compliant pushover, rather it's assertive, confident and courageous.

I will be bringing IFS to the community on the group level in 2025. I'm excited to be attending the "Creating Healing Circles" training in February with Chris Burris then launching the first group hopefully by the end of Spring. Healing in community! This is one of my answers to "what now?"

And the trailheads keep coming....
